Visitor Rules and Guidelines

    Visiting Restrictions by Unit

    • Pediatric Clinics and infectious disease wards: No visitors allowed. Information is provided to parents only between 14:00–15:00. Items can be brought between 19:00–20:00.

    • Intensive Care Units (ICU):

      • Adult ICU (Prof. Dr. Feriha Öz Emergency Hospital): 13:00–15:00 / 20:00–21:00

      • Neonatal ICU: 11:00–12:00 / 14:00–15:00

        • Only fathers may enter 11:00–12:00; mothers are allowed for breastfeeding every 3 hours.

      • Coronary ICU: 13:00–15:00, 1 visitor per patient for 5 minutes

      • Cardiovascular Surgery (KVC) ICU: 09:00–10:00 / 18:00–20:00, 1 visitor per patient for 5 minutes

      • Pediatric ICU: 13:30–14:30, parents 5 minutes per patient

    • Pediatric Surgery:13:00–14:00, only parents may visit

    • Other clinics: Daily visiting hours 13:00–15:00 and 19:00–20:00


    General Visitor Rules

    • COVID-19 patients: No visitors allowed.

    • Maximum 2 visitors per patient at a time.

    • Visits must not exceed 15 minutes.

    • Infants and children under 12 should not be brought as visitors.

    • Visitors must not sit on patient beds or use patient belongings.

    • Hand sanitization required when entering and leaving patient rooms.

    • Visitor restrictions may be applied if patient health is at risk; doctor’s permission may be required.

    • People with contagious illnesses (flu, cold, etc.) must not visit.

    • Outside visiting hours, a maximum of two patient relatives may assist the patient, and after 30 minutes, only one companion may remain.


    Children Visiting Rules

    • Pediatric Ward: Only father and healthy siblings over 12, who are not immunocompromised, may visit.

    • Pediatric Surgery: No visitors due to catheters or open wounds.

    • Pediatric ICU: Non-trauma patients (non-intubated, non-tracheostomized) may receive visits up to 10 minutes from siblings/friends.

    • Neonatal ICU: Children over 5 may visit with at least one parent; maximum two siblings at a time, for no more than 5 minutes, at scheduled times determined by hospital management.


    Education and Documentation

    • Visitor and companion rules are explained at patient admission.

    • Education is recorded in the Patient and Family Education Registration Form.

    • Rules are also posted in the Inpatient / Patient / Relative Brochure in each patient room.
